Operational run of SINMOD physics
Forecast based on ocean models
Based on boundary conditions from an operational 4 km model by Meteorological Institute, we now run an 800 m model 42 hrs into the future. After data processing we produce forecast for the ocean state. The 800 m model is nested to several 160 m areas which can quickly be started for high resolution simulations. Possible applications include forecasts for dispersion of disease agents, currents, critical temperature and salinity, algal and jellyfish blooms, oil spill drift, etc.
