Forecast based on SINMOD ocean model. The simulation data is based on a nested setup of SINMOD, covering the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans in 20 km horizontal resolution, nested down to a local model area for Mid-Norway in 160 m resolution.
Boundary conditions for the large scale model are acquired from the Mercator Global Ocean model system. Atmospheric input for the large scale models are acquired from NOAA Global Forecast System, and for the local scale models from the 2.5 km MetCoOp EPS system by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.
Possible applications include forecasts for dispersion of disease agents, currents, critical temperature and salinity, algal and jellyfish blooms, oil spill drift, etc.

Estimate of large scale surface chlorophyll concentration (4 km model resolution) and regional scale concentration (800 m model resolution) outside Mid-Norway.
Estimated sea surface temperature and salinity from the 160 m model.
Estimated nitrate at midnight today and tomorrow from the 160 m model.
Estimated diatom concentration at midnight today and tomorrow from the 160 m model.
Estimated flagellate concentration at midnight today and tomorrow from the 160 m model.
